Booking a room and equipment is now as easy as 1 2 3 via Office 365!



In Office 365 it is now easy to setup a system where you can reserve a room or equipment so everyone is informed. Now everyone can have an idea of whats available and when so you can avoid annoying mix ups like booking the same room/equipment on the same day/time-slot.



What is a room mailbox:  It is a type of mailbox that is assigned to a location such as conference rooms, or auditorium in your organization. Once created, users can easily reserve rooms by including the room mailbox in meeting requests.



What is an equipment mailbox:  It is a type of mailbox that's assigned to a piece of equipment such as portable computer, projector, microphone, or a company car in your organization. Once created, users can easily reserve the piece of equipment by including the equipment mailbox in a meeting request.



What you need to know:

  • Room mailbox or equipment mailboxes do not require a Microsoft license.  So It is free.
  • To book a room, from your outlook, just create a meeting request and add the conference room so no one else can book it.
  • To book equipment, from your outlook, create a meeting request and add the equipment mailbox and the equipment will be reserved so no else can book it in your time slot.
