To connect to a network location in Mac OS X

To connect to a network location in Mac OS X:
  1. From the Finder, hit Command+K.
  2. Enter the following path: smb://IPaddressOrHostname/foldername and click ‘Connect'.
  3. The drive is now mounted but will disappear after reboot, but follow the next steps for persistence.
  4. Enter into System Preferences by clicking on the Apple icon and select system preferences.
  5. Click on ‘Accounts’.
  6. Click on “Login Items”.
  7. Click on the + button to add another login item.
  8. Locate the network drive you previously mounted and click “Add”.
  9. Exit out of System Preferences.
